Highlights: The sound and light show narrates the history of the majestic land of Chittorgarh to perfection and is a treat to witness.
Location: Rana Kumbha Palace, Chittorgarh

The Department of Tourism has initiated the Sound and Light Show to add excitement for the tourist. Inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister of State Mrs. Usha Poonia on The World Tourism Day i.e. 27th September this first of its kind show in the state is providing evening entertainment to the visitors.

This sound and light show starts with the 6th century King Chitrangada who in search of land for his capital found Chittor to be a safe place from invasions. It then moved to the brave Bappa Rawal who defended Chittaur against the Arab invaders and brought Mewar on the political map of then India. Episodes related with the beauty and sense of pride of Rani Padmini, the versatility of Rana Kumba, the spirituality and single minded devotion of Meera, treacherous plan to kill young Udai Singh and beyond the call of duty sacrifice by Panna Dhai, etc. have all been enacted using sound light and various effects to bring life back roto the fort.

Produced by ITDC, for the Ministry of Tourism and operationalised by RTDC the show is of 58 minutes duration, in English and Hindi, carefully blended with the correct proportion of relevant music from this land of Rajasthan.

The equipment installed for the show is state-of-the-art technology, using latest digital technology of high sustainability.

Timings are: 7:00 PM onwards and Entry Fee for adult is Rs. 50/- and Rs. 25/- for child.
