About Khimsar

Renowned for its magnificent fort, Khimsar is a small desert town located in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan. Plan a stay at Khimsar and get acquainted with the rural life of the desert people. Built by Rao Karamsi, the 8th son of the Jodhpur founder in the 16th century, Khimsar Fort is a magnificent establishment. It is located on the Thar Desert and it seems as if it has risen from the desert itself. Initially the fort served as a ground for military activities and later it was converted into the royal residence of the royal family.
